We work to achieve our aims by engaging with staff within the workforce; helping those considering the early years as a career choice whilst working to challenge the many stereotypes that exist which create the barriers to inclusion for children. Examples include:
Network CPD Meetings
As a network, we meet quarterly to support those within the workforce and provide CPD around gender balance in the early years. We offer a platform for keynote speakers to delivers sessions and engage the network in current research.
We work with schools and other educational settings to highlight the value of good quality early years education and promote early years as a rewarding career for all students regardless of gender.
Our work with training providers gives us an opportunity to explore gender in the early years and facilitate discussion around gender reflective practices.
We deliver speeches and workshops at conferences to highlight the importance of early years education and the impact of gender stereotyping. We also speak on how to build your own local men in early years network.
