'Mindful Parenting & Community Project' in Bristol are a 'not for profit' organisation providing Mindfulness courses for parents, teachers and pupils. They are one of the leading organisations in the South West specialising in Mindfulness for vulnerable and disadvantaged families and carers including fostered and adoptive parents.
They have a Stressbusting for Dads course starting in January 2018 at Boing in Lockleaze and are trying to get the word out to as many dads as possible so they too, can acquire this invaluable resource and toolkit.
There are some taster sessions and course starting very soon.
There are two taster workshops for this course which are taking place on Wednesday 13th December 6.30-8pm and Wednesday 3rd January 6.30-8pm at Boing in Lockleaze so dads can come along and find out what the course is about and see if it is something that would be helpful and supportive for them.
The taster sessions are FREE and we have been granted funding from Oxford Mindfulness Centre to be able to offer some FREE and SUBSIDISED places on the 10 week course itself.
This a great opportunity so please do what you can to let those know about it as we a re really keen for this course to reach those that really need it and would not normally be able to do such a course otherwise.
Both Claire-Louise and Donna have been parenting practitioners for Bristol City Council for over 20 years and have experience working with parents whose relationships with their children have been effected by mental health or difficult circumstances. They discovered mindfulness about 5 years ago and realised this was the missing link to support all parents in the various challenges of parenting that we all experience. Since that moment we have been training to the highest level of teaching with Bangor University and expanding the organisation. They are registered members of the 'Uk Network of Mindfulness Based Teachers’ and abide by the Good Practice Guidelines in terms of our mindfulness teaching.
